West Wittering
One of the largest properties in a hugely sought after location, within meters of the famous West Wittering beach.
Our design focused mainly on the pool terrace and balconies, tying in the sliding glass doors that wrap around the house and the undisrupted views across the sand dunes down to the water. The showstopper here is undoubtedly the full-size central swimming pool, which proved a challenge to fit into this space.
With some clever design it was carefully positioned, allowing ample room for entertaining, sunbathing and relaxing. An elegant spiral staircase links the upper balcony to the pool area below, creating a sweeping focal point. The brief specified large areas of paving for flexible use, which were broken up by contrasting two different colours of paving.
In addition to the pool area we included a tennis court redesign, driveway, and a side garden leading to a summer house and boat store, all landscaped alongside a full renovation and rebuild of the house. These photos were taken shortly after completion and we look forward to visiting the project again to see how other areas are progressing and how the clients’ gardening team have developed the coastal planting scheme.
