Twenty years of award-winning landscape and garden design experience
With almost twenty years of award-winning landscape and garden design experience, Andy has built a team of world-class designers and consultants who share his passion and expertise for creating outstanding and exceptional outdoor spaces.
Working together over the years, the team at Andy Stedman Design are adept at creating beautiful designs while meeting complex and challenging requirements – whether for a listed building and its grounds or a small urban space that demands a ‘wow’ factor.
Andy has a lifelong passion for landscaping, design, art and architecture. In the midst of his other passion - playing rugby - Andy started his career at sixteen as a landscaping apprentice for a local landscaping company in Chichester. Today, Andy brings with him twenty years of diverse experience within the landscaping industry - from swimming pool construction to commercial landscape design and residential garden design. Over the years, Andy has traveled the world working in Australia, Europe and UAE, immersing himself in many elements of design and construction - finally returning in 2013 to hone his design skills at the Oxford College of Garden Design. Since its inception, Andy Stedman Design has become one of the leading and most innovative landscape design companies in the UK.
Andy will be one of a client’s first points of contact at the start of the design process. Andy oversees each project, working with his team to deliver the best possible designs for each and every client. Andy is on hand throughout each project with an experienced and expert eye for the details that add up to a spectacular design. When he’s not doing this he’s traveling the UK and Europe sourcing and selecting the best materials and products for the showroom.
Stuart joined the team in 2020 and is our senior designer. He is qualified in garden and landscape design and has accumulated nearly fifteen years’ experience in the industry. Stuart has worked in several highly successful landscape design practices and has impressive horticultural knowledge, a background in architecture and hands-on project management experience. Stuart is a versatile designer with a preference for understated, elegant designs and seasonal planting schemes that come to life alongside precise hardscape detailing. Stuart is a great believer in the inspirational nature of the RHS and garden shows - having worked hands-on with designers of three Chelsea Flower Show gardens, and on two show gardens on a consultancy, design and visualisation basis.
Stuart works closely with Andy and the team on every project, he is the main contact once the design process is underway.
